Tonbridge murder: Detectives ask residents near Avebury Avenue to check CCTV and doorbell cameras

Murder detectives are asking people to check their doorbell cameras after a young man was killed last week.

Four people, including three teenagers, remain in custody following the fatal stabbing near Avebury Avenue, Tonbridge, on Friday.

Police were called the scene at around 12.55am, but the victim, a man in his 20s, died at the scene.

Now, detectives are asking people to check their doorbell cameras and CCTV for important information.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil Kimber, of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: "We have had a positive response to our appeals for information and are grateful for all the help received from members of the public.

"We are now particularly keen to speak to anyone who was in the area of Nelson Avenue, between the hours of 11.55pm on Thursday 18 August and 12.30am on Friday 19 August.

"Residents are urged to check any CCTV security systems you may have. If you have seen or heard anything which may assist our investigation, please don’t hesitate to contact us, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem."

Six people have been arrested since the fatal attack, of which two have been released without charge.

Four people remain in custody: A 17-year-old boy from Coulsdon, a 15-year-old girl from Tonbridge and a 16-year-old boy from Tonbridge, on suspicion of murder. A 47-year-old woman from Coulsdon is detained on suspicion of assisting an offender.
