Gardeners at Penshurst Place had to put their work on hold last week, to ensure they didn't disturb some unannounced guests.
Resting on the very top of a strimmer engine, which was leaning in the corner a tool shed, the team discovered a nest which is the new home to a family of blackbirds.
The birds will not be disturbed until the chicks fledge.
Rare birds are often spotted around the grounds, and these blackbirds are known to nest in the area.
Construction to the new nest began around a month ago, and the final product even incorporates a black cable tie.
Head Gardener, Cory Furness, who discovered the feathered friends in the shed said:
"Most years there will be a blackbird nest in one of the sheds, there will usually be a robins nest in a container of nails, a watering can or in the end of a roll of matting."
He added: "Sometimes we aren't able to use a particular piece of equipment because of a perfectly placed nest, or avoid working in an area because there are fledgling birds hopping around - we have learnt to work around the local wildlife.
"We are yet to introduce ourselves, but I hear a rumour the male is called Sid, short for Sidney, and the female is called Brenda."
The blackbirds have fledged two chicks so far, with one egg yet to hatch.
