Pedestrian struck by car in high street

A PEDESTRIAN suffered life-threatening injuries when he was involved in a collision with a car.

Kent Police say the man was crossing High Street, Tonbridge, at the junction of Bank Street, when the accident happened at about 1.10pm on Christmas Eve.

A Kent Police spokesman said the driver of a silver Vauxhall Corsa braked but was unable to avoid the man who hit the windscreen.

The injured man was taken to Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells with serious head injuries. His condition on Sunday night was said to be life-threatening.
