Police are keen for witnesses to come forward after a large disturbance in Tonbridge Park at the weekend.
They are not sure whether the incident is related to an attack on a teenage boy in the park on the same day.
Social media reports suggest Harry Diamond, from Tunbridge Wells, suffered serious injuries after being set upon by eight men.
WARNING: Graphic images of injuries
On Facebook, his mum Nicki Rogers said: "I was not going to put this on Facebook but I feel I need to say.
"My son Harry was badly attacked by eight men. He was hit with hammers and metal poles."
The teen was supposed to be starting his GCSE exams on Monday.
Police said the disturbance involved a large group of people at 6.56pm on Sunday.
Officers attended, but were unable to find anyone said to have been involved.
At just before 6pm that same day it was reported a teenage boy was treated for injuries at a local hospital, after being assaulted in the park.
Detective Chief Inspector Neill Parker said: "We are continuing to investigate whether or not these incidents may be linked.
"Regardless, incidents of this nature are very rare in Tonbridge, but any violence on our streets will not be tolerated.
"We are carrying out a number of enquiries including reviewing CCTV and if you have any information that can help us please get in touch."
