Traffic on a busy dual carriageway was stopped in both directions due to concerns for a woman’s welfare.
There were delays on the A21 between the A25 and the Morleys Roundabout junction near Sevenoaks Weald this morning.
Motorists were being warned to approach the area with caution and to expect delays.
A police spokesman said: “Officers were called at 10.40am to a concern for the welfare of a person at a location near the A21 and close to the junction for the A25.
“Officers attended along with other emergency services and a woman was taken into the care of health care professionals.”
A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews were called at 11.08am today to assist Kent Police on A21 in Sevenoaks and two fire engines attended.”
The road was temporarily closed but has now reopened.
