Police name road tragedy victim

KENT Police have revealed the name of a woman pedestrian who died in hospital after she was involved in a collision with a car.

Vera May, of The Ridgeway, Tonbridge, was struck by a Rover in Shipbourne Road, Tonbridge, on Tuesday, February 5.

She was taken to taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells where she died the following day. She was aged 88.

An inquest into Mrs May’s death has been opened and adjourned. The car driver, who immediately stopped to help the woman after the incident, was not hurt.
