Police quiz university rapes suspect

KENT Police are today questioning a 38-year-old man arrested on suspicion of being responsible for two rapes at universities 15 years ago.

One of the alleged rapes took place at Kent University at Canterbury on December 2 1989. The other alleged offence occurred at Sussex University at Falmer, near Brighton, on October 8 the same year.

Detectives say the man was arrested this morning following an operation with Sussex Police.

The suspect, who comes from Hastings, is being questioned at Tonbridge Police Station where he is being quizzed by officers from both forces.
