Police in Edenbridge are asking members of the public to help tackle a recent spate of graffiti in the town.

A number of incidents have been reported in areas including Fircroft Way and the Spittals Cross Estate.

Kent Police is continuing to deploy visible patrols in these areas and are are asking local residents to report anything suspicious.

Simon Humphreys, local police community support officer, said: "We understand the effect graffiti can have on the quality of life for residents.

"It can cause upset to many people, as what appears to be big and clever to one person ruins the enjoyment of the area for everybody else.

"Graffiti isn’t a widespread problem in Edenbridge; however it is still criminal damage that can make parts of the town look unattractive, or make people feel unsafe and increase the fear of crime.

"This is why with our partner agencies we are working hard to reduce the number of incidents and identify those who may be responsible. It is also important that graffiti is removed quickly so that it isn’t seen as acceptable."
