A cow is set to make its mark on the music world after being given a starring role in Will Young’s new music video.
The Pop Idol winner was filming a scene at Three Elm service station in Hadlow Road, Tonbridge, this week.
He posed on a moped, filling up a petrol can, with the cow running across the forecourt and newspapers blowing around.
There were front-row seats for the service station staff, who watched the entire performance through the window of the garage shop.
Supervisor Calvin Mannerings said: “The police wouldn’t let anyone else in, we were closed for about four hours.”
The singer, who is due to release fourth album Let It Go in September, signed autographs and posing for photographs.
Till worker Leigh Wadey, who appropriately had Will sign a till roll for her, said: “It was exciting, I’ve never really seen a music video being shot before.
“I thought my manager was joking when she told me.”
She said Will was a lot taller than she’d imagined, but described him as “a normal person just having a laugh”.
But she was even more impressed with the buffet laid on, which included fruit kebabs, although staff didn’t get to sample it.
Ms Wadey described the actual filming process as hectic, with a huge entourage and plenty of cameras.
She said: “I think they were trying to make the video look older than it is.
“They wanted a country setting and we’ve got trees surrounding the whole garage.”
It’s not only the cow, which is from Hadlow, which could go down in music history. Die-hard fans planning a Will Young pilgrimage should include a stop at pump four on their itinerary.
A statement from Will on record label Sony BMG's website was said: “My aim is to make great pop songs that are really personal but with a strong sense of storytelling.
“They are tales that I hope people can understand, or learn from, or relate to, or even make them question things in their life.”
We’re yet to find out what life changing wisdom a cow on a garage forecourt will bring us.
