The closure of Tonbridge's Beer Seller pub has been described as a 'tragic loss' by regulars.
The High Street venue launched as an an alternative 'Quirky Free House' in a former shop unit in 2018, but despite having drawn some devoted followers the pub announced this week it was closing.
A Facebook post on Monday stated: "It is with a heavy heart and deep regret to let you know that unfortunately The Beer Seller is closing its doors immediately.
"Unfortunately we never managed to recover from the impact of covid and the knock on effects it has had on our pub.
"We want to thank all of our amazing customers and awesome suppliers for your support over the past four years and of course our brilliant team. There have been many special days and nights in here that will never be forgotten.

With its Wild West saloon frontage and rustic interior, decorated with hung wagon wheels and other rustic miscellany, the pub was popular with those looking for a different drinking experience.
Among them was Kent Online's own Secret Drinker who gave it a glowing review earlier this year in April, concluding: "The Beer Seller might not be exactly what you’d expect to find on Tonbridge High Street, with an old tin roof and plenty of eclectic furnishings but this is every inch a proper pub with all the essentials and I consider myself very lucky to have found it.
"Great beer, chatty/friendly locals, an assorted pack of loveable hounds and a barman who looks like Jesus and isn't afraid to mildly abuse you – what’s not to like?"
And Secret Drinker wasn't the only fan. Regulars reacted to the news with sadness, with some saying they were "absolutely gutted" at the loss.
Reacting on social media one regular said: "This is really tragic, by far the best pub in Tonbridge, and so good I could even pursuade people to come over from Tunbridge Wells to visit. Really sad also as all the staff are brilliant people."
Another added: "Gutted. Our home from home. Girls are devastated too.
"Thanks for some great times, it is a sad reminder how tough it is out there and ultimately if people don't use these great places they will lose them. Hope the wonderful staff find something and hopefully will see them around."
