When rail passenger Ollie Last spotted a Southeastern employee with his feet resting on the opposite seat, he immediately Tweeted a picture to the train operator.
Southeastern urged him to report the matter to the conductor - which was when things took a strange twist as you can see in the Twitter exchange below.
The incident happened between Tonbridge and London earlier this month.
The unfortunate Souteastern employee manning the company's social media accounts didn't reply to Ollie's final tweet which pointed out the conductor was already well aware of the situation.
But it later said it was aware of the issue and expected staff to follow the same rules as passengers and keep their feet of the seats.
