A mum from Tonbridge has started a petition to set up a fundraising day especially for the National Health Service.
Chloe Derrick came up with the idea of 'NHS day' while self isolating with her five-year-old daughter Scarlett.
The 24-year-old said: "It's times like this that make you realise how much the NHS is struggling and how important it is for it to have extra funding.
"We raise money for Children in Need and Sport Relief each year, which are great charities, but I just thought, why not have a day for the NHS too?"
After just 24 hours, the petition has already been signed by nearly 350 people.
"As lovely and heart warming as the clapping was, it doesn't help the situation.
"If we had a fundraising day once a year, the country could come together and make a huge difference.
"Whether it's raising money through small bake sales, or a big event involving celebrities, I think NHS day is something people should consider."
Last night the county applauded whose working on the NHS frontline during the coronavirus pandemic from their doorsteps.
Miss Derrick is hoping to reach 500 signatures but said she will not stop there.
"Each time I reach a new goal, it automatically sets a new target so I'm going to see how many signatures it can get."
