Rush-hour traffic was delayed due to a 15 inch water main burst.
It is one of two on the A227 Shipbourne Road, Tonbridge, which has flooded the junction with Willow Lea Road.
The road is closed as a result and a third burst is causing problems on Cherry Tree Avenue.
South East Water's incident manager, Jenny Rhodes, said: "We have now repaired two of the three burst water mains in Shipbourne Road and been able to restore water supplies for the majority of customers in the area.
"Our crews continue to work hard to fix the last burst water pipe at the junction of Willow Lea and the A227 Shipbourne Road.
"Any customers still without water should see their supplies return shortly as the network slowly refills, though water pressure may be lower than usual while things get back to normal.
"As tap water supplies return, customers may find it is discoloured. This is not harmful, and is caused by natural deposits of iron and manganese.
"Shipbourne Road will remain closed for safety reasons until the final water main has been fixed and the road surface repaired.
"Our Customer Care Team has delivered water to customers on our Priority Services Register and we have also delivered bottled water to the Towngate Wood retirement park.

"We would like to thank everyone for their patience while we carry out the emergency work and the clear up operation, as well as Kent Police and Kent Highways for their assistance.

Police confirmed they were called to the scene of a "large water leak" in Shipbourne Road, Tonbridge, at 12pm.
"Part of the road surface has been damaged by the leak," he said.
"Officers are at the scene, along with Highways and the Environment Agency. Road closures are currently in place."
A Kent Highways spokesman said: "Use caution and expect delays in the area."
South East Water said it could not confirm when water pressure would return to normal.
