A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a lorry driver accused of causing the death of a Tonbridge man, who was crushed while carrying out road repairs.
Dale Pentney, 20, of Lavender Hill was pronounced dead after the accident on the A21 Sevenoaks bypass last January.
He was working as a contractor for the Highways Agency at the time.
Anthony Smith, 48, from Newport, Gwent, had been summonsed to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court yesterday when he was due to be charged with causing Mr Pentney's death.
But he failed to turn up and the warrant was issued.
He is accused of driving a Mercedes HGV without due care and attention.
A Facebook page dedicated to Mr Pentney's memory described him as lovely, crazy and fun-loving.
The road was closed to traffic for several hours after the accident happened at around midnight on January 15 last year.
The Health and Safety Executive launched an investigation following the tragedy.
