A woman pillion passenger died after the motorcycle she was travelling on left the road.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the accident on the A21 near Tonbridge on Boxing Day morning.

A motorcycle was travelling towards Sevenoaks on the A21 when it left the carriageway, just north of the A26, at around 10.45am.

The driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance. His passenger died at the scene.

Anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538.

Police particularly want to hear from the driver of a black Fiat Punto who joined the A21 behind the motorcycle.

Ch Insp Dave Pate said: "This is a tragic incident and our sympathies are with the families and friends of those involved."
