A woman who plunged to her death from a bridge fell while desperately seeking help after the car she was in caught fire.
The 24-year-old, named locally as Azra Kemal, died after falling from a bridge on the A21 between Sevenoaks and Tonbridge yesterday.
Police were called just after 2.30am and the air ambulance was also sent, alongside paramedics, who found a car engulfed in flames.
Detectives have now said they believe the young woman, from London, was travelling in the car before it caught fire.
It is understood she got out, and while trying to seek help, fell to her death from a bridge.
Tragically, she could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 31-year-old man from London was arrested in connection with the incident, with forensics called in to investigate and the road closed for 11 hours.
However, the man has since been released without charge as police are satisfied there are no suspicious circumstances and are now preparing a report for the coroner.
Many of Miss Kemal's friends are remembering her today and a tribute is being planned.
A memorial gathering has been organised for 4pm at Priory Park in Haringey, north London.
One friend has posted: "In the early hours of yesterday morning, our beautiful friend Azra was tragically taken from us.
"Let's fill the sky with balloons, love, hugs and message for her."
Officers are preparing a report for the coroner and anyone who has information that may be useful, should call Kent Police on 01622 604100, quoting 16-0120.
