AN 88-year-old woman involved in a collision with a Rover car has died in hospital.

The collision happened at around 11.10am on Tuesday at the junction of Shipbourne Road and Trench Road, Tonbridge.

The woman, who police say was from the local area, was taken to the Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells where she died on Wednesday afternoon.

It is understood no other vehicles were involved and the car driver, who immediately stopped to help the woman after the incident, was not hurt.

The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and was reopened at 3.30pm.
