Tonbridge edged closer to retaining their Ryman League, Premier Division status after earning four points over Easter.

Boss Steve McKimm’s side beat AFC Hornchurch 4-0 at Longmead last Saturday before gaining an impressive 2-2 draw at third-placed Margate two days later.

Those results mean Angels are 18th, three points clear of the drop zone, ahead of Saturday's home clash against third-bottom Witham Town (3pm).

With only three games to go, McKimm believes his side need to get at least another victory to make sure of safety.

He said: “One more win would be real handy but everyone knows games at this stage of the season are never easy. They have so much riding on them and the clash with Witham sure has.

“If you look at our remaining games (Angels play Billericay and Dulwich after this game), it’s the most winnable game going on the table. But you can’t afford to take anything for granted."

Nathan Elder, who joined on loan from Conference Premier side Dover last month, opened the scoring for Angels at Margate.

McKimm said: “Nathan’s been outstanding since he arrived. He leads the line so well and gives us everything he’s got."
