Tonbridge Angels boss Steve McKimm is trying to stay positive, despite watching his side extend their winless run to five games last weekend.

Angels lost 1-0 to Kingstonian in the Ryman League Premier Division after Jake Kempton’s second-half header and McKimm said it had been another frustrating display.

He said: “It just seems to me at the minute that we have all the tools but we are not using them. We know we can play but we just don’t seem to put it all together.

“We had enough chances to get something out of the Kingstonian game but we didn’t take them – we failed to punish them when we had the chances.

“Then we make a simple error and got punished for it. It’s frustrating, but all we can do is keep plugging away and hope it turns for us sooner rather than later."

McKimm bolstered the engine room in his squad last week, signing two midfielders in
Dan Parkinson and Dane Luchford. Parkinson arrives from Herne Bay, while Luchford last featured for Southern Counties East outfit Tunbridge Wells.

Luchford made his debut at Kingstonian while Parkinson was suspended. He should come into contention for the clash with Enfield Town at Longmead on Saturday.

McKimm said: “They should give us some extra bite in the centre of the park because they have plenty of non-league pedigree in them.”
