Tonbridge have climbed to second in the Ryman League, Premier Division but manager Steve McKimm isn’t getting carried away.

Three straight wins have lifted Angels into title contention – they’re three points behind leaders Dulwich Hamlet with four games in hand.

Angels beat Hendon 3-1 last Saturday before an impressive 3-0 win at Met Police on Tuesday night.

McKimm said: “It’s a lovely position to be in and I’m not going to knock it but it could easily go the other way. Lose our next three and we’ll be mid-table.

“We’ve won our last three and I’m happy but we’ve got to keep it going. There’s so much football to be played and we won’t get carried away.

“As far as I’m concerned, Billericay away on Saturday is our most important game of the season.

“They’ve been on a good run and I know Craig Edwards, their manager. He’s got some experienced, hard-working players and it’s going to be a tough game.”

Tonbridge have only lost three league games this season, fewer than any other side in the division.

McKimm said: “If you’re hard to beat you’ve got half a chance so that’s what we’ve got to carry on doing.

“Every game throws up different surprises and we will have a spell where we’ve got to dig deep. Things won’t always go our way.”
