Tonbridge boss Steve McKimm remains in the transfer market with the big kick-off fast approaching.

Less than two weeks remain until Angels start their Bostik Premier campaign at home to Hendon and McKimm wants to increase his options in midfield.

He said: “There’s room for one or two more. We’re having a look at one on Saturday.

“I’ve got one on the back burner. He’s got a slight injury at the minute but once he proves he’s fully fit, there’s a good chance we’ll sign him.

“We’re working on things and the squad is almost there.

“One more midfield player might just be the key to us and we’ll be looking at that over the next couple of games.”

Tommy Whitnell scored twice in Tonbridge’s 7-2 win at Phoenix Sports on Saturday with Andre McCollin, Craig Stone, Liam Smith and Alex Akrofi also on target.

Angels lost 2-0 to Dover on Monday night but McKimm insisted he took plenty of positives from both games.

He said: “In the Saturday game we looked good going forward and mixed a few things up.

“Monday night was a good test for us, a physical battle, which we stood up to.

"Even though we were on the wrong end of a 2-0 defeat, I learnt a lot from some of the youngsters that played. I had five missing but took more from it than I would do a training session.”

Jay Siva and Whitnell are unavailable for Angels’ final three friendlies, starting at home against Whyteleafe on Saturday.
