Jordan Greenidge is back with Tonbridge Angels - this time on a permanent deal.

Greenidge scored 17 times in 28 appearances on loan last season before returning to parent club Hemel Hempstead.

It’s a major piece of business by Tonbridge who earlier today released Stefan Payne to make room for Greenidge’s return.

The 6ft4in striker attracted big interest following his exploits at Longmead last season but Hemel had an option on his contract.

Angels, however, have their man, and Greenidge couldn’t be happier.

“I’m very excited to be back and can’t wait to get started,” Greenidge, 23, told Tonbridge’s website.

“I was really happy here last season and it’s important for me to feel that way in order to play my best football.

“The way the club treated me and the support I got from the fans last season had a big impact on my decision to come back.”

Saunders revealed this week he was working on new signings to get Tonbridge going in the final third, having been disappointed with a return of three goals in six National League South games.

They don’t come any bigger than Greenidge.

“I’m delighted to bring Jordan back to Tonbridge Angels,” said Saunders.

“He has had a number of offers to join other clubs but we’ve worked hard to bring him back to Longmead.

“I know what he can add to the team and he knows how well-regarded he is here at the club.”

Greenidge could feature at Slough on Saturday.
