Angels get the luck to end on a high

TWO GOALS: Player-boss Tony Dolby

Tonbridge Angels 3 Hampton & Richmond 2

TWO freak goals from player-manager Tony Dolby hepled Tonbridge Angels to a hard-fought win over Hampton & Richmond on Saturday.

Dolby gave his side the lead after 26 minutes when his corner beat everyone, including visiting keeper Kieran Drake, and went straight in.

Angels were two up on the hour when Richard Brady was sent clear and, although his first effort was well saved by Drake, he had the composure to hook the ball back across goal for Leroy Huggins to fire home.

But within five minutes, Hampton were level.

First, Ryan Ashe's corner was headed in by an unchallenged Alan Inns and then substitute Elliot Godfrey fired in a cracking 25-yard volley after the otherwise impressive Mike Cramp had failed to clear decisively.

But Angels were not to be denied salvaging some pride after being relegated from the Ryman Premier Division and claimed all three points when Dolby's free kick again evaded a crowd of players on its way into the net.
