Tonbridge Angels boosted their Skrill South survival bid with a 2-1 home victory over Basingstoke on Saturday.
Michael Bakare earned the points with a superb second-half strike as Angels started a run of four games in eight days with a win.
But they remain second-bottom in the table, three points adrift of safety, ahead of an away match against Concord Rangers on Tuesday night.
Basingstoke had the ball in the net twice during the first half but Liam Enver-Marum’s strike was ruled out for a foul, while Manny Williams was flagged offside.
Basingstoke keeper Louis Wells made an excellent save from Luis Cumbers’ volley before Angels took the lead with a Mark Lovell penalty in injury-time after a foul on Alex Teniola.
Angels threatened to increase their lead after the break but Basingstoke equalised on 70 minutes when Shaun McAuley finished a loose ball.
Tonbridge weren’t to be denied, however, with substitute Bakare breaking down the right and firing home the winner just three minutes later.
