Tonbridge boss Jay Saunders has been reunited with a prolific striker.
Angels have signed 41-goal forward Noel Leighton from Three Bridges.
Saunders worked with the former Millwall and Dagenham man while manager of Margate.
He initially took him on loan from the Daggers in 2019 before signing him on a permanent deal.
Leighton, who’s also played for Hythe, fired Three Bridges to the Isthmian South East play-off final this season.
The Sussex club announced earlier today their star man was leaving to play at a higher level.
And it’s National League South Tonbridge who’ve won the race to sign the 25-year-old.
“Noel is someone I have worked with before and what he gives you is a great work ethic and he is a great character as well,” Saunders told the Angels website.
“I feel that he is someone that can come into this level, having played National League before.
“He is still a young age and someone who can really add to the squad and hopefully add goals to us.”
Leighton said he was “buzzing to get the opportunity at such a great club”, adding he “can’t wait to get in with the boys and help push this club to some new heights”.
He’s Angels’ second summer signing following the arrival of winger Fumnaya Shomotun from relegated Dartford.
