Devonte Aransibia has rejoined Tonbridge on loan from local rivals Maidstone.
Aransibia scored 12 goals from midfield for Angels last season before making a summer switch to the Gallagher Stadium.
The lure of full-time football was behind the former Norwich youngster’s move but he’s back at Longmead in a deal that runs to the end of the season.
He returns to Tonbridge after cutting short a loan spell at fellow National League South club Braintree and could feature at Hemel Hempstead tomorrow.
Boss Jay Saunders is delighted to have him back and hopes fans will get behind him.
“I was gutted to lose Dev in the summer because he added goals to our midfield but I get why he went,” said Saunders.
“I know there was a lot of bitterness because he was going to Maidstone but the lad had a chance of going to full-time football and you can’t argue with people wanting to try that.
“When the opportunity came up to get him back I just felt it worked and it was a no-brainer for us.
“We’ve had a few injuries in that area and I’m still looking to add goals to the team.
“He did that last season, so I believe in our system we can get him back in and he can add to that end of the pitch.
“He wanted to come back. It’s not like he hated it here or anything like that.
“Sometimes someone offers you a better deal and it’s full-time football and you have to look at it.
“I was gutted to lose him but we have to understand we’re a part-time club and Maidstone are full-time.
“Some of these lads don’t have jobs outside of football and it was an opportunity for him to go full-time.”
