Tonbridge have continued their summer rebuild by signing a new left-back.
Former Southend defender Tom Clifford has joined the Angels from National League North side King’s Lynn.
Clifford, 25, made 66 appearances for the Shrimpers after progressing through the age groups at Roots Hall.
He moved to King’s Lynn last summer but departs after one season for a new challenge at Tonbridge.
“I’m really pleased to get Tom over the line,” Angels boss Jay Saunders told the club’s media team.
“He is someone that has played in this league and a higher level as well.
“He has good experience but is still at a good age and he will give us that natural balance on that side.
“I’m sure he will link up with Sean Shields really well.”
It’s a second defensive addition in 24 hours for Tonbridge, with right-back Crossley Lema joining from Welling.
Lema, 25, played under Saunders at Margate.
“Crossley is strong, quick and a good athlete,” said the Angels boss.
“He’s a right-back and a good replacement for Jamie Fielding. Crossley is also versatile and can play other positions.
“He’s got a great attitude and we are pleased he is joining us.”
