Tonbridge fans have clubbed together to fund the signing of a new striker.
Tom Derry has joined Angels for the rest of the season after leaving East Thurrock.
The move was made possible by the generosity of a small group of supporters.
Manager Steve McKimm said: “I am tremendously grateful for this superb gesture from our fans.
“It really does show what a terrific club we have here when ordinary supporters can put their hands in their pockets to this extent.
“In return we are getting a proven striker and if proof were needed, many will remember his goal against us in the final game of last season here when he was playing for Leatherhead.”
Derry started his career at Gillingham and has also played for Kingstonian, Hayes & Yeading and Aldershot.
His arrival is a timely boost for McKimm, who’s been down to the bare bones in recent weeks.
Angels won 2-1 at Wingate & Finchley on Wednesday to move up to fourth in the Bostik Premier. Joe Turner's penalty and an 87th-minute winner from Jared Small sealed the points.
Sustaining their challenge will be tricky with a small squad but they’re up for the battle, with a trip to Burgess Hill next up on Saturday.
McKimm said: “We’re low on numbers and it’s a major issue at the moment. I’ve got to go with it.
"It’s part and parcel of non-league football, we have to balance the books.
“We’re pushing and pushing, and hopefully it lasts out for the final third of the season.”
