Tonbridge manager Steve McKimm has spoken of his admiration for chairman Dave Netherstreet.
The pair shared a touching moment after Angels beat Taunton 5-0 to reach the FA Cup first round for the first time since 1972.
McKimm was quick to seek out his chairman and the pair are now preparing to take on League 2 Bradford next weekend.
The Angels boss said: “I’ve worked with Dave for a number of years and he’s always been supportive, as a director and then when he became chairman.
“He’s never interfered, he just lets me get on with the job.
“He’s backed me when I’ve needed it and told me when we need to rein things in.
“I like to think of us as a team, which we are, and we’ve been successful in getting the club promoted and to the first round of the FA Cup for the first time in 48 years.
“He does so much work behind the scenes.
“For example, on Saturday, he was sorting the pitch out and doing stuff around the ground before Taunton arrived and then he changed into his shirt and tie to be the chairman.
“He’s a remarkable man - words can’t express how highly I think of him.
"I’m so pleased for him because Tonbridge Angels is his club and people don’t know what he’s done for the club.
“I won’t say exactly but he’s surpassed what a person involved with a football club should have done.
“He stays in the background but he wants this club to be running for a number of years to come.
“After I’d celebrated with the boys I couldn’t wait to grab him and give him a cuddle. He deserves it!”
