Tonbridge boss Steve McKimm says managing Luke Blewden’s game-time is benefiting the player and the team.

Blewden scored twice in the 3-1 win over Enfield at Longmead on Tuesday night, taking his goal tally to four in as many games.

He and strike partner Nathan Elder now have 20-plus goals each.

McKimm said: “Luke works so hard for the team and runs himself into the ground.

“We took him out of the side earlier in the season – which was good for him – and left him out for a game and a half recently. Now he is back firing again.

“He and Nathan have been superb for us, it’s the club’s best joint tally for years.”

Blewden struck twice in 14 second half-minutes as Angels bounced back from last Saturday's 3-0 defeat to East Thurrock.

Sonny Miles’ 26th-minute goal had given Tonbridge the lead before Corey Whitely put the north Londoners level eight minutes later.

Defender Jerome Sobers is available again for the visit of Wingate & Finchley on Saturday after completing a two-match ban, while Metropolitan Police are the visitors to Longmead on Tuesday.
