Prolific Tonbridge marksman Carl Rook set his sights on 30 goals for the season after Tuesday's hat-trick in the 4-1 defeat of Dartford took his tally to 14.
Rook, who managed 31 last term, said: "I upped my target to 30 and with 14 already in the bag, I've got there quicker than I thought.
"I can't relax so I just want to keep on banging in the goals. Last season was my best and I want to improve on that."
Rook was quick to praise strike partner Ade Olorunda who has joined him up front after previous partner Jamie Cade was switched to a wide position.
"Ade works tremendously hard and I would like to think we're hitting it off together while Jamie has done tremendously well in his new role," Rook added.
The striker is adamant that the best is still to come from Tonbridge who are shadowing the Ryman League Premier Division pace-setters.
"We're still gelling as a side," he insisted. "We know we have a strong enough squad.
"It's now a matter of gelling togther because we have a number of new boys at the club.
"Players like Leon Legge, Lewis Hamilton and Jamie Cade are all good players who have played at a higher level.
"And don't forget John Westcott, who came off the bench and did so well against Dartford. I played with him at Horsham and know how good he is.
"So we have that strength in depth."
Rook conceded that manager Tommy Warrilow, who was with him at Horsham as assistant manager, had changed since stepping up to take charge at Tonbridge.
He explained: "He had a different role at Horsham where he was one of the lads. Now he's had to change and at the start was very strict with us.
"He's a manager who likes to play football but he knows when we have to turn teams."
