Winger Vas Karagiannis made an instant impact after signing up for Tonbridge’s play-off push.
Karagiannis, who’s joined on loan from Maidstone for the rest of the season, set up Nathan Elder in a 2-1 win at Hendon last weekend.
Andre McCollin’s late goal clinched a first win in nine and sent Angels back up to fifth in the Ryman League, Premier Division.
Angels boss Steve McKimm said: “It showed that Vas hadn’t played a lot of football lately but there was a 20-minute spell where he made a difference.
“We know he’s got goals in him, we know what he brings and he could just help us over the line.
“We’ll have him for the play-offs if we do make it.”
Tonbridge, inside the play-offs on goal difference from Needham Market, go to second-placed Havant on Saturday.
The Hampshire club are a point behind leaders Bognor with four games left.
McKimm said: “This is a massive game. They’re going for the title, they’re good at home and we’ll have to be on our toes to stop what they do because they pose a threat everywhere.
“People expected them to win the league after coming down from Conference South and I think they expected to.
“They’re a good side but we don’t fear anyone.”
Tonbridge meet Billericay in the League Cup final at Carshalton on Wednesday (7.45pm).
Some people look down on the competition – but not McKimm.
He said: “At our level I don’t know understand how people can dismiss any competition.
“It’s different in the Premier League when clubs put out weaker sides but at our level you want to win anything you can.”
