Tommy Warrilow's message to his Tonbridge Angels players this week is that they have got to “dig in and stop making silly mistakes”.

Although Tonbridge are still in fifth spot in the Ryman League Premier Division, three league matches without a win has taken some of the wind out of their sails.

And Warrilow knows the reason why. He said: “We are still playing well enough but we keep getting punished for silly mistakes and the players have got to get their heads down again and work harder.

“We made a mistake at 1-0 (to Wealdstone) last Saturday which cost us another goal and although we showed a lot of character in the way we came back, we had left ourselves with too much to do.”

Leon Legge’s header proved to be the Angels’ only reward after they dominated the last half-hour of the game.

Tonbridge have the chance to rediscover their winning touch in the game at Harlow tomorrow (Saturday).

The Essex outfit lost 2-0 at leaders Dover on Tuesday but they have games in hand on most of the teams above them and Warrilow warned that their current 17th place in the table could be misleading.

One positive from last week’s game was that Tonbridge did not pick up any injuries but midfielder Tommy Tyne is ruled out by a one-match ban for five bookings.
