A missing man has been found after police revealed they were growing concerned for his welfare.

A search was launched for Tunbridge Wells pensioner Barrie Lumsden, who was last seen at about 3pm on Friday in the Kingswood Road area of the town.

The 88-year-old was to be wearing a dark-coloured cap, a navy blue raincoat and black trousers, as officers appealed for information about his whereabouts.

And late on Friday night, a police spokesman confirmed: "An 88-year-old man who was reported missing in Tunbridge Wells this afternoon has been found safe and well.

"Officers would like to thank everyone who assisted with the search."
