Car fire outside Tunbridge Wells train station

Dramatic photos show the moment a car went up in flames outside a train station.

Fire crews were called to the scene in Tunbridge Wells at about 6.50pm yesterday.

The vehicle was not saveable, although the blaze was contained to the engine compartment.

A fire service spokesman said: "We were called to reports of a car alight in Vale Road,Tunbridge Wells at 6.51pm on Saturday, July 27.

"Fire crews extinguished the flames using a high-pressure hose reel jet.

"There are no reports of any injuries and the vehicle was left in the care of its owner when firefighting was finished at 7.09pm."
