Twelve-year-old girl taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital after being hit by car on A267 Frant Road

A 12-year-old girl has been taken to Tunbridge Wells Hospital after she was hit by a car this morning.

Paramedics were called to the A267 Frant Road at 8am and an ambulance spokesman said she was treated at the scene for pain in her knee and ankle before being taken to hospital.

The accident closed the road in both directions between the junctions of Broadwater Down and the B2169 Bayham Road. Kent Highways announced it had reopened at 10.42am.

Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service and the Kent Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.

A police spokesman said her injuries are believed to be minor.

Motorists are being asked to use another route.
