Tree falls on cars after strong winds in Pembury Road, Tunbridge Wells

Several cars were damaged after a tree came crashing down in a private car park.

Firefighters were called to Pembury Road in Tunbridge Wells at around 4pm.

They used a thermal imaging camera to confirm no one was trapped inside any of the vehicles and said everyone had been accounted for.

Two fire engines attended and crews remain at the scene helping to make the area safe.

A severe weather warning was earlier issued for wind as Kent was lashed by strong wind and heavy rain.
