A window which smashed over a child in High Brooms is thought to have been broken deliberately.
A child on board was reportedly injured when the rail replacement bus's window broke, showering passengers with glass in High Brooms, near Tunbridge Wells.
Passenger Ed Davey said: "Someone has a bag and sandwich full of broken glass."
Mr Davey thought the bus had driven "over a bump so hard a window shattered" while travelling between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.
A Southeastern spokesman said: "It's suspected that someone deliberately broke the glass."
Go Coach said it was adamant the window was not smashed maliciously.
A spokesman said: "It's probably due to fatigue, someone may have knocked into it."
He said: "I was two feet away from the window when it smashed, I didn't see anyone do anything to it.
"I feel sorry for the bus driver really, he didn't seem to be going too fast or anything, it was probably just a bad pothole or something.
"The boy was quite brave, he only had a small cut on his finger but everyone dealt with it really well."
A Go Coach spokesman added: "Our driver stopped and asked if everyone was okay. He asked again when everyone got off at Tonbridge Station.
"Both times nobody said anything and they went about their day."
Paul Prentice, a spokesman for Southeastern said: "We’re aware of an incident this morning in which a window was smashed on a rail replacement bus.
"While we look into what happened, we’d ask that anyone who was on the bus gets in touch with us through our Customer Services team through our website or by calling 0345 322 7021.
"We’re aware that the incident has been reported to the police, and would ask that anyone who witnessed what happened should contact Kent Police, quoting reference number CAD 030687."
The child is understood to have suffered a minor cut when the glass broke.
