A drug dealer who hid heroin and crack cocaine in his boxer shorts has been jailed for more than two-and-half years.

Ajah Stracchan, who was found trying to conceal a bag containing almost £1,000 of drugs in the back of his pants when stopped by police in Tunbridge Wells, told them he was "just sorting his jeans out".

He tried to conceal 48 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, weighing half a gram each.

Stracchan, 32, was stopped by officers in Stratford Street after they recognised the Ford Focus he had been driving as being involved in supplying drugs.

After claiming his hands were down his pants because his jeans were uncomfortable, he was searched and a cellophane bag wrapped into a ball was found.

During police interview, Stracchan claimed it was all for his personal use - adding he was both a crack and heroin addict.

However, he refused to answer any questions about the vehicle he had been driving.

Stracchan, formerly of Villiers Road, Cricklewood, was jailed for 33 months at Maidstone Crown Court.

"As I have said before, it's very simple; if you try and sell drugs in Tunbridge Wells expect to be caught and expect to go to jail..." - Ch Insp Dave Pate

He had previously pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing class A drugs with intent to supply.

Ch Insp Dave Patesaid: "Stracchan travelled from London to Tunbridge Wells with the sole intention of supplying drugs, after he wrongly assumed that this would be an easy place for him to deal heroin and crack cocaine.

"My officers are working relentlessly to identify those involved in the supply of drugs in our town and Stracchan is now the second London based drug dealer to be jailed in less than a month.
