A Tunbridge Wells man has been arrested after suspected drugs were found in a car which had been seized by police for having no insurance.

It comes after officers stopped a Subaru Impreza in London Road, last Sunday.

The driver was suspected of having no valid insurance or driving licence and as a result the vehicle was seized and impounded.

Police are appealing for information.

The following Wednesday a warrant under the Misuse of Drugs Act was executed on the vehicle and officers discovered powdered substances believed to contain amphetamine.

Yesterday a 26-year-old man from Tunbridge Wells was then arrested in Speldhurst Road on on suspicion of possessing Class B drugs with intent to supply.

He has been released pending further investigation.
