The Next Dimension Gymnastic Academy (NDGA) in Tunbridge Wells has secured sponsorship from three local businesses and a further education college - as well as receiving funding from British Gymnastics.
MCM Net, West Kent College, Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital and Salomons Estate have all agreed to sponsor the gymnastic academy which was built in 2011.
Its 1,000 members include seven artistic and acrobatic squads who have gone on to represent Kent at a national level.
One of the first companies to sign up to sponsor the NDGA was MCM Net, a Tonbridge-based marketing and web design business.
John McMahon, MCM Net’s managing director, said: “Having been a Kent-based company for 17 years now, we are always proud to work with local businesses, events and organisations.
"The NDGA is a truly unique and exciting facility that we jumped at the chance to be involved with, and we are confident we will have played a very small part in supporting the development of the next Olympic gold medal winning gymnast.”
West Kent College is another Tonbridge-based organisation quick to support NGDA.
College principal Paul Hannan commented: “We are delighted and proud to be involved with this project. Inspiring and helping young people to achieve specific goals is fundamental to our philosophy and we are very pleased to sponsor the NDGA which encourages so many young people to aspire to athletic excellence.”
The third member of the quartet is Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital, part of Spire Healthcare which is one of the largest providers of private healthcare in the UK.
Jonathan Canham, business development manager of Spire Tunbridge Wells Hospital, said: “We were delighted to be able to sponsor the NDGA, as there is a lot of synergy between our two businesses.
“We were only too happy to sponsor the NDGA, as we believe in encouraging young people to follow their dreams and achieve their aspirations" - Andrew Daniells, Salomons Estate...
"Having recently launched Momentum Orthopaedics, this new relationship will now allow our post-operative patients to take advantage of the NDGA’s state-of-the-art facilities to help with their rehabilitation, either through physiotherapy, personal training or by using their gym.”
The final sponsor is the NDGA’s sister company, Salomons Estate – a country house style bistro, hotel and wedding venue based in Southborough.
Andrew Daniells, general manager of Salomons Estate, said: “We were only too happy to sponsor the NDGA, as we believe in encouraging young people to follow their dreams and achieve their aspirations."
NDGA’s operations manager, Chantelle Harman, says: “We are delighted to accept this level of sponsorship from our local business community.
"As well as being a solid endorsement of our brand, it means that not only can we continue to invest in our services for the benefit of our members, we can continue to support our elite gymnasts too, who have gone on to represent both the county and the country.”
