A man has died after being hit by a van in Rustall High Street.

The pedestrian was knocked down just before 5pm.

Emergency crews including police and ambulances were called, but the man could not be saved.

His next of kin has been informed.

The area has been cordoned off and officers are still at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 4.55pm following a collision involving a van and a pedestrian in High Street, Rusthall.

"A road closure is currently in place and officers remain at the scene."
