Intruder in Eridge Road, Tunbridge Wells, claimed to be a police officer

Officers investigating reports an intruder entered an elderly resident’s house, posing as a policeman, have released an e-fit of the suspect.

The 90-year-old woman, of Eridge Road, Tunbridge Wells, had been in her front garden when she went back inside and heard someone upstairs.

When confronted, it was alleged the man claimed he was a police officer before leaving empty-handed.

It happened at 5pm on Thursday, April 11.

Police want help to identify the suspect and are asking for doorbell footage or CCTV that may help in their inquiries.

The man is described as white and around 5ft 5in, average build and had short dark hair.

He is thought to be in his 30s and may have a front tooth missing at the top.

He was wearing dark-coloured trousers and a white, short-sleeved, round-necked T-shirt, which was described as dirty.
