A mystery woman from the county has picked up a mega £1million win in the EuroMillions.

The Kent winner, who is known only as Mrs H, scooped the prize money after the draw on Tuesday, February 13 and says one the first things she is doing is paying off her mortgage.

She won the life-changing money after playing the Lucky Dip via the National Lottery website.

The National Lottery spokesman Andy Carter said: “Wow this is amazing news for Mrs. H who is now a millionaire after winning this incredible prize. She can now look forward to being mortgage-free. Huge congratulations.”

Earlier this year, a Tunbridge Wells couple also got lucky and scooped £250,000 in prize money.

Michelle Newton and her husband John Simpson won the amount after buying a £2 scratchcard.

Michelle, 50, explained: “We were off to town in between Christmas and New Year to see the sales, just to mooch really. But we couldn’t find the keys to lock up which made us late.

“On the way back, we popped into the newsagent, later than planned, to pick up a few bits. With the change left, we bought a scratchcard.

“We immediately scratched the card outside the shop and we just stopped dead in our tracks. I said to John, ‘I can’t believe this is happening’.

“We just stood there in the street, cars whizzing past, shaking, realising we had won.”
