Staff from a Kent law firm have raised more than £4,000 for a homeless charity by cycling from London to Tunbridge Wells.

They group, who work for Cripps, were taking part in the first ever ‘Tour de Cripps’, cycling between three of the company's offices.

The 90km route took them from the London office near Charing Cross to Tunbridge Wells via Kings Hill.

Starting out at Chandos Place

The ride, on September 25, was in aid of Porchlight, which works with vulnerable children, young people and adults to change their lives for the better.

It also provides long-term support to help people get their lives back on track.

Trainee solicitor, Hannah Proctor, who organised the event, said: “It was a great success - the weather was glorious and we only suffered one puncture which, ironically, was only three miles from the end.

“The route was brutal at points with a 15% gradient hill and others nearly as steep, so it was great that the staff in our Kings Hill office came out to greet us when we arrived and there was a huge welcome in Tunbridge Wells.

"We had an after party at Velo House cycling café and someone who benefits from Porchlight’s services came along to give us an insight into the great work the charity does. It looks like Tour de Cripps will become an annual event.”

The group raised a total of £4,308,14.

Cripps has offices in Tunbridge Wells, Kings Hill, London and Sandwich.
