Loved ones of people who were abused by necrophiliac David Fuller in hospital mortuaries are set to take legal action, after his heinous crimes went undetected for 12 years.

Double murderer Fuller, 67, abused at least 100 dead bodies between 2008 and November 2020, at Kent and Sussex Hospital, and then Tunbridge Wells Hospital, where he worked.

Last Thursday, the electrician and father, of Heathfield, East Sussex, admitted murdering Wendy Knell, 25, and Caroline Pierce, 20, in 1987.

He had beaten and strangled both women and then had sex with their bodies.

Following his murder arrest in December 2020, police conducted a thorough search of the hoarder's home.

Concealed behind a cupboard in a wardrobe, in Fuller's home office, they found videos and photos which Fuller had taken, of him assaulting the bodies of dead women.

Police say they have evidence of Fuller violating 100 women, with 81 identified so far.

Now questions are being asked about how Fuller was able to commit these heinous crimes without being caught for 12 years.

Families of some of the victims are taking legal action, following the revelation, and have instructed Dean Wilson LLP Solicitors, from Brighton.

Spokesman Ben Davey said it was "astonishing" that no one had realised what was going on.

He said: "Families will rightly feel that they will be due compensation and my firm is supporting some of them in taking legal action.

"In addition, there needs to be a public inquiry as to what level of access staff have in hospitals, with full recommendations about what restrictions should be in place to ensure that only those that need access are provided with it.”

One of Fuller's victims was Azra Kemal, 24, who fell to her death from a bridge on the A21 near Tonbridge.

Her corpse was taken to the morgue at Tunbridge Wells Hospital where Fuller carried out the vile assault.

Her mother Nevres Kemal told the Times she was arrested after trying to kill him by taking a knife to Colindale police station where she believed he was being held.

Sir Jonathan Michael – a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians – has been commissioned to independently chair an investigation into how the offences happened and to identify anything Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust should have done to avoid it.

However others, including Greg Clark, the MP for Tunbridge Wells, are calling for a public inquiry into the case.

Following the news, it has been revealed Fuller's children are in 'total shock' after hearing about their father's sickening crimes.
