A man accused of assault and theft from an Iceland store was due to stand at court this morning, but did not appear.
On February 18, Christopher Fillery, of no fixed address, allegedly stole two chocolate rabbits and a block of cheddar cheese to the value of £4.00 from the supermarket in Tunbridge Wells.
On the same day and at the same location in Calverley Road, the 42-year-old is also accused of assaulting another man.
He was scheduled to appear at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court today for a plea and case management hearing.
But magistrates were told Fillery had been involved in an accident and cut his head. The wound required medical treatment meaning he was unable to appear.
He will now be required to provide medical evidence of his injury at a hearing on May 6 at the same court.
