Man seriously injured in crash involving van and motorbike on A264 Church Road, Tunbridge Wells

A man is in hospital with serious injuries following a crash involving a van and a motorbike.

The collision happened on Church Road in Tunbridge Wells yesterday lunchtime.

Emergency services were called at around 12.25pm and a man in his 60s who was riding the motorbike was flown by air ambulance to a London hospital.

His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The road between Mount Pleasant Road and the A26 London Road was closed for several hours.

A Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Two fire engines attended and crews used hydraulic equipment and tools to stabilise the van and release one casualty, who was passed into the care of the air ambulance."

Kent Police and SECAmb also attended.
