The modernisation of Five Ways Post Office in Tunbridge Wells has been called a 'great investment in the community' by Tunbridge Wells MP, Greg Clark.

Mr Clark visited the new-look Post Office in Grosvenor Road where he praised the branch's recent developments as he cut the ribbon with staff and customers.

The refurbishment took place as part of a mult-million pound Post Office investment programme that is seeing thousands of branches across the UK modernised.

At the opening ceremony on Thursday, September 25, the Tunbridge Wells MP said: “I am very pleased to visit the team here at Five Ways Post Office. The modernisation of this town-centre branch is a great investment in the community.

“The brighter, more welcoming layout and new self-service options mean that customers and staff can interact better while getting the important things done in a more pleasant environment.

“It is also fantastic to see that the Post Office, one of the most trusted institutions in the UK, is providing a real alternative to high street banks. People considering their personal banking options will be very pleased with the arrival of current account products at Five Ways Post Office.”

The branch now boasts a private consultation room where customers can speak to specialist advisors about the Post Office’s range of financial services products including mortgages and the Post Office’s new current account packages, as well as homephone and broadband services.

Branch manager, Sam Parris said: “We have heard nothing but positive feedback from our customers about our new-look branch and they have really embraced our self-service kiosks.”

Post Office regional manager, Andrew Thompson said: “We’re delighted with the changes that have been made at Five Ways Post Office and are confident that customers will be just as pleased.

“This modernisation programme is ensuring customers are served in a more modern retail space, and the changes mean increased convenience and greater service options.
