Investigation after palms trees 'deliberately' set alight in Calverley Park, Tunbridge Wells

An investigation is under way after palm trees were set alight at a local park.

The fire service were called to Calverley Park, Tunbridge Wells, at 5.40pm yesterday evening.

It is thought the trees were set on fire deliberately, with two witnesses at the scene claiming a group of youngsters started the blaze.

One fire engine attended and crews extinguished the flames with a hose reel jet.

No casualties were reported and the fire service left the scene at 5.55pm.
